Real questions from real interviews

391 questions in our database, across nine airlines and a general interview

Our question database is built mainly from what pilots report after their interviews at each airline, and pilots also send us what they were asked. Each airline interview here uses the questions reported for that airline, so you practise with what candidates report being asked, not a generic list.

Facts about an airline come from its own website. Technical answers are compared with FAA regulations and guidance, and if that text does not cover an answer, your report says it could not be checked.

What the interview covers

Your background and motivation

Tell me about yourself, why this airline, and what you know about it.

Past situations

Tell me about a time questions, with follow ups on what you say.

Your record

Checkride failures, incidents, violations, terminations and gaps.

A scenario

A situation you have to handle, where Captain Hale speaks as the other pilot or crew member and pushes back.

Technical questions

Delta and Southwest have none, because recent reports describe none. SkyWest, Envoy and PSA have a longer section.

Your report

A verdict, a rating for each competency with your own words as evidence, and what to work on first.

Common questions

Is Captain Hale a real captain?

No. Captain Hale is an AI interviewer. You answer out loud and he replies in a voice, in your browser. You can end whenever you like.

Will I get these exact questions at my interview?

Nobody can promise that. These are questions candidates report being asked, and airlines change their questions over time.

Is AeroScout connected to these airlines?

No. AeroScout is independent and is not affiliated with any airline. Airline names are used only to say which interview is being practised.

How are technical answers checked?

Against public FAA text. When that text does not cover a question, the report says it could not be checked and does not call your answer right or wrong.

Do you ask about my medical or my age?

No. The interview stays away from age, health, nationality and appearance.
