About This Role
Air Methods is hiring a regular full-time Fixed Wing Pilot for EMS air-ambulance operations in Farmington, New Mexico, flying the PC12 under IFR. The pilot is responsible for safe, legal aircraft operation and for ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy while transporting medical crew and a patient to a receiving hospital within the assigned operational area. The position follows a 7-days-on/7-days-off schedule with 12-hour shifts and offers a $50,000 base stipend, off-duty housing, and a $15,000 sign-on bonus. Duties & Responsibilities
- The pilot ensures that aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy before transporting the medical crew and patient to the receiving hospital within the assigned operational area. Duties include operating Air Methods aircraft safely and legally
- completing a pre-flight before every flight, verifying airworthiness by signing the Daily Flight Log, and performing a complete aircraft walk-around before entering the cockpit and after each flight. The pilot has final authority for aircraft operations and the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment. The role requires thorough familiarity with the aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft used in the operational area, as well as ensuring that the medical flight team is familiar and comfortable with the medical interior and systems. Additional responsibilities include completing required documentation, conducting detailed flight planning on short notice to exacting standards, complying with FAR, AIM, GOM guidelines, and Air Methods policies and procedures, participating in meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach, and performing other assigned duties. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements
- Applicants must have flown in the applicable category for a commercial operator or in the military within the previous 24 months. The Fixed Wing IFR program requires 2,500 total flight hours, including a minimum of 2,000 hours in category, 1,000 hours PIC in category, 500 hours of cross-country flight time, 500 hours of fixed-wing turbine time, 100 hours of night flight time, and 100 hours of flight in actual instrument conditions in category. Candidates must hold a Commercial certificate and Instrument Rating for the applicable category and class
- an ATP rating in category satisfies this requirement. A First- or Second-Class FAA Medical certificate is required. The education and experience requirement is an associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school plus two to five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- a bachelor's degree is preferred. Pilots must maintain a weight of no more than 250 pounds, be less than 70 years old, maintain positive professional relationships, attend regularly as scheduled, and comply with applicable DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing requirements.
