About This Role
MAG Aerospace is seeking an ISR First Officer/SIC for King Air 350 fixed-wing operations. The pilot will support safe, effective, and efficient mission flights in modified contractor-owned, contractor-operated turboprop aircraft, coordinating with Airborne Sensor Operators, Mission Commanders, sensor personnel, mission coordination services, Fixed Base Operators, military range control, and civilian and military Air Traffic Control. The position includes day and night operations under VMC and IMC, maintenance of night currency and instrument proficiency, and assignments from remote, austere, and primitive locations, including sites with possible unimproved runways, across CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The pilot will ensure safe, effective, and efficient flight operations
- identify aircraft maintenance faults and corrective actions
- and complete all flight-safety documentation in accordance with applicable industry and FAA standards. Duties include pre-flight planning and aircraft checks, coordination with Airborne Sensor Operators and Mission Commanders responsible for onboard sensor systems and mission execution, and monitoring airspace, weather, radio communications, mission boundaries, other traffic, and aircraft systems. The pilot will coordinate flights with Fixed Base Operators, military range control, military and civilian ATC facilities, Primary Mission Equipment operators, Mission Commanders, and Mission Coordination Services. The role operates modified contractor-owned, contractor-operated turboprop aircraft under commercial and Host Nation regulations and program procedures, includes day and night VMC/IMC flying, requires night currency and instrument proficiency, and may include Aviation Safety Pilot duties. Operations may be conducted from remote, austere, and primitive locations with possible unimproved runways, with strong emphasis on crew safety and customer relations.
Requirements
- Required qualifications include 300 hours of documented flight time, a current FAA Class II Medical Certificate, and either a current FAA Commercial Pilot MEL license with instrument privileges or an Airline Transport Pilot MEL license. Candidates must also hold an active Secret security clearance, with TS preferred, be U.S. citizens, and have a valid passport with at least six months remaining before expiration. Hired candidates are subject to a post-offer, pre-hire, pre-deployment medical assessment. Preferred qualifications include former U.S. military or government law-enforcement pilot experience
- U.S. military training as a fixed-wing instructor pilot, maintenance pilot, or instrument examiner
- overseas rotation experience, especially in USCENTCOM or USAFRICOM areas of operation
- a Radio Telephone Operator's Permit
- USSOCOM global-operations experience
- and pilot-in-command experience in other aircraft, including multi-engine turboprops. A bachelor's degree or equivalent, or seven to nine years of related experience, is also preferred.
