About This Role
Solairus Aviation is hiring a Full-Time Client Aviation Manager (CAM) to lead a flight department at KSJC (San Jose). The role combines flight-department leadership with active flying: the candidate must hold a Praetor 600 type rating, a first class medical, and substantial pilot flight hours (3000 TT, 1500 PIC, 1500 MEL, 500 turbojet). The CAM supervises personnel, coordinates crew/maintenance training and scheduling, manages budgets, and participates in the SMS, while also flying the managed aircraft.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervises assigned personnel to ensure compliance with Solairus, FAA and other Manuals and regulations.
- Coordinates, schedules and reviews applicable crew and maintenance personnel training.
- Coordinates maintenance test, training and other flights.
- Develops scheduling procedures with clients.
- Approves/schedules PTO and expense accounts for assigned personnel.
- Participates in interviews of assigned personnel.
- Notifies the Client Responsible Officer of anticipated needs for pilot relief.
- Maintains Training Currency and Monthly Flight Time Records on each crewmember.
- Actively participates in the Safety Management System (SMS).
Requirements
- Total time = 3000 hours
- PIC = 1500 hours
- MEL = 1500 hours
- MEL PIC = 500 hours
- Time in Turbo Jet = 500
- Instrument Time = 250 hours. A management background with a demonstrated track record of exceptional leadership skill is required. NBAA CAM certification or other applicable leadership training is preferred. Typed on Praetor 600. First class medical required. Must be able to work on an on-call basis. Must be able to complete ICAO International procedures training annually. Must be located or willing to relocate within 2 hours of KSJC.
