About This Role
Perimeter Aviation LP is recruiting a Medevac First Officer in Winnipeg for its Canadian 703/704 operation. The company provides scheduled passenger and freight service to Northern Manitoba and Northern Ontario, 24/7 North American charter services, medical evacuation services and a full-service maintenance facility, operating from bases in Manitoba and Ontario. Reporting to the 703/704 Chief Pilot, the First Officer's priority is safe flight operations while considering on-time performance and passenger comfort; the role requires close, constant communication with other crew members and flight followers so Medevac transfers are efficient and effective. The position combines cockpit operations with inspections, aircraft fueling, patient and freight handling, passenger briefings, medical-crew assistance when appropriate, ongoing safety participation and preparation for a future Captain role. It can involve flexible schedules, extended travel, indoor and outdoor work, and accommodation at changing remote bases; although the wider fleet includes Metro 2, 3 and 23, Merlin and Dash 8 aircraft, no specific type is assigned to this vacancy.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct flights in strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual and Company Operations Manual. Assist the Pilot in Command (PIC) with management and operation of the flight and participate in all cockpit procedures
- fuel the aircraft
- perform a thorough pre-flight inspection on behalf of the Captain
- and complete post-flight aircraft inspections. Lift, load and secure patients, cargo, baggage and freight, assist the medical crew when required and appropriate, and brief passengers in accordance with the applicable SOP. Work in close coordination and constant communication with the other crew members and flight followers to execute Medevac transfers efficiently and effectively. Continue improving flying skills and aircraft knowledge toward readiness for a future Captain position, actively participate in the Company's Safety Management System, continue to meet and exceed Transport Canada pilot qualification standards, and perform additional duties as assigned.
What We Offer
During scheduled shifts, accommodation is arranged in a residence at the remote base to which the pilot is assigned.The assigned bases may change in line with operational requirements.
Requirements
- Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- a Commercial Pilot License
- a Category 1 Medical
- a current Group 1 Instrument Rating
- and 500 hours of total flight time. The applicant must be a Canadian citizen or have unrestricted authorization to work in Canada, be fluent in English with effective verbal and listening comprehension, hold a valid passport and driver's licence, and be able to obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations. A Child Abuse Registry check and criminal record check are required, as is thorough knowledge of aviation regulations
