About This Role
NetJets is seeking a Midwest Region First Officer to provide safe, technically accurate air transportation and a highly personalized service experience for Owners and passengers. The Pilot serves as the aircraft's final operating authority, represents NetJets throughout each trip, and combines professional flight operations with concierge-level passenger service, including onboard hospitality and assistance with baggage, pets, and other passenger needs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The First Officer is responsible for safe aircraft operation from taxi through takeoff, cruise, and landing in accordance with FAA requirements, OEM checklists, the NetJets Flight Operations Manual or Aircraft Operating Manual, and standard operating practices. Duties include greeting Owners and passengers before departure
- making introductions
- briefing passengers on the flight and itinerary
- providing weather updates and safety briefings
- explaining itinerary changes
- delivering in-flight service, including catering and alcohol service
- loading and properly stowing baggage
- and handling flights involving pets or passengers who smoke. The Pilot acts as the final authority for all aircraft operations and regulatory compliance, serves as the liaison between Owners, passengers, and NetJets from arrival at the departure FBO through departure from the destination FBO, and promptly communicates maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the fleet Maintenance Control Center while completing the associated documentation. Other duties may be assigned according to the position and operational requirements.

Requirements
- Applicants must have a high school education and hold or qualify for an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate, Restricted ATP, or the applicable ATP/R-ATP pathway with a multi-engine rating under 14 CFR 61.160. The posting requires at least 1,500 hours total flight time, or 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate, or 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification or an appropriate university R-ATP certificate
- 200 hours cross-country flight time
- 250 hours fixed-wing PIC time
- 100 hours night flying, or 75 hours with at least 45 night takeoffs and landings
- 75 hours instrument time excluding simulator time
- and 50 hours fixed-wing multi-engine time. Candidates must complete the ATP written examination before indoctrination training, hold a current FAA First-Class Medical certificate, possess an FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit, a valid unrestricted U.S. passport, unrestricted authorization to work in the United States and travel internationally, a valid state driver's license, and the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently. Candidates must pass TSA background screening, obtain required airport authority or U.S. Customs badges, work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays, manage rest for flight duty, and remain flexible during trips that may last up to fourteen hours per day for as many as eight days and include seven or more nights away from home. The role also requires strong service orientation, professional grooming, excellent communication, sound decision-making under pressure, the ability to work around animals and conduct flights for smoking passengers, and the physical ability to move objects using up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, or 10 pounds constantly.
