About This Role
The Cook Group Pilot position in Bloomington, Indiana operates company aircraft to transport personnel, equipment, and supplies to various locations in day, night, and instrument conditions. The pilot is responsible for conducting flights safely under FAA, ICAO, and company regulations, with duties spanning passenger care, weather and route assessment, flight planning, aircraft airworthiness, operational coordination, regulatory recordkeeping, and protection of company property. The role also includes aircraft servicing and other aviation-related non-flying duties.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The pilot briefs passengers on cabin equipment and emergency procedures, attends to passenger comfort, and assists with baggage and surface transportation.
- Before flights, the pilot studies weather, determines whether the flight should proceed, selects suitable routes and altitudes, checks airport and airway information, and completes and files FAA flight plans.
- The pilot supervises loading of passengers, baggage, and freight and verifies aircraft performance, weight, and balance against certifiable limits.
- The role coordinates flight planning with operations and scheduling personnel, communicates arrival and departure times and weather information to passengers, and resolves passenger requirements.
- Pre-flight responsibilities include inspecting the aircraft, checking fuel, oil, anti-icing fluids, emergency supplies, and other equipment, and confirming that the aircraft is airworthy and prepared under FAA and company regulations.
- Away from base, the pilot ensures servicing, storage, care, and protection of company aircraft and equipment, issues purchase orders, signs for contracted fees and services, conducts post-flight inspections, and reports malfunctions and operating data to maintenance.
- The pilot completes FAA records, aircraft reports, and flight reports, maintains personal flight logs and records, studies FAA regulations, airport landing areas, air traffic control procedures, and communications techniques, and maintains knowledge of aircraft operating and systems manuals and current aviation developments.
- Additional responsibilities include following company S.O.P.'s, protecting passenger and business confidentiality, and performing other aviation-related non-flying duties as required.
Requirements
- The minimum flight experience requirement is 3,000 total hours, including 1,000 hours of turbine PIC time, 500 hours of jet time, and 200 hours flown during the last 12 months.
- The qualifications list experience flying aircraft heavier than 12,500 lbs. at takeoff, an associate degree or equivalent, a current 1st Class FAA Medical Certificate, and an FAA ATP certificate with a multi-engine endorsement.
- Applicants must have no prior aviation incidents, accidents, or violations and must hold a valid US Passport and FCC Restricted Radio Operator Certificate.
- Previous corporate flying experience is preferred, as is experience with the Challenger 604, Gulfstream G100, and/or King Air 350i.
- Pilots will be required to fly three aircraft types.
