About This Role
NW Wings Aviation is seeking experienced airline or corporate jet pilots for a part-time Mentor Pilot position focused on developing the next generation of aviators. The role combines in-flight training and ground training with career guidance, progress evaluations, professional development, and mentorship for students and junior pilots. Mentors may contribute through occasional sessions or more structured evaluations and are expected to reinforce a strong culture of safety, professionalism, and leadership.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Mentor and support aspiring pilots throughout their training and career development.
- Share real-world insights from airline and corporate jet operations, including professional standards, decision-making, and possible career pathways.
- Conduct progress checks before solo to confirm that students meet safety and proficiency standards, and conduct end-of-course checks to verify training completion and readiness for the next stage.
- Participate in structured in-person or virtual mentorship sessions, serve as a professional role model, and demonstrate discipline and enthusiasm for aviation.
- Collaborate with NW Wings Aviation instructors to reinforce training and industry best practices.

Requirements
- Applicants should be current or former airline pilots, or corporate jet captains or first officers.
- The posting accepts an ATP or Commercial Pilot Certificate with multi-engine experience and seeks candidates with a strong background in professional flight operations and crew environments.
- Candidates should have a passion for teaching, mentoring, and supporting the aviation community, along with excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
