About This Role
Royal Flying Doctor Service SA/NT is recruiting a Line Pilot to operate its Pilatus PC-12 fleet on aeromedical retrievals, inter-hospital patient transfers and primary healthcare missions across the Northern Territory. Based in Darwin or Gove, the pilot flies into remote and regional communities across the Top End, Big Rivers and East Arnhem, working alongside flight nurses, doctors, engineers and operational teams to deliver essential healthcare. The role offers varied single-pilot IFR flying, comprehensive training including the opportunity to upskill onto the Pilatus PC-12 PRO, and relocation assistance to make Darwin a new base.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate the organisation's Pilatus PC-12 fleet delivering life-saving aeromedical retrievals, inter-hospital patient transfers and primary healthcare missions throughout the Northern Territory.
- Respond to emergency retrievals from remote communities, transport patients between hospitals, and support healthcare teams delivering services across regional and remote Australia.
- Fly into some of Australia's most unique and remote locations under single-pilot IFR, working collaboratively with flight nurses, doctors, engineers and operational teams.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety and professionalism in a dynamic, high-variety operating environment, and take up the opportunity to upskill onto the Pilatus PC-12 PRO with supported, ongoing professional development.

Requirements
- The posting frames its criteria as what the ideal candidate will have, and invites applicants who are close to meeting them. Stated criteria: CASA Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL(A)) or higher
- a current Instrument Rating with a current Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC)
- approximately 2,000 hours total flight time
- approximately 1,500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC)
- approximately 100 hours of night flying experience
- and recent single-pilot IFR experience within the past two years, together with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The following experience will be highly regarded: Pilatus PC-12 operations
- turbine aircraft operations
- remote and regional flying

- single-pilot IFR operations
