About This Role
Royal Flying Doctor Service South Australia and the Northern Territory is seeking a full-time permanent Line Pilot based in Alice Springs to operate Pilatus PC-12 aircraft. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Flight Operations, the pilot will support aeromedical evacuations, inter-hospital patient transfers, and healthcare personnel charter flights across South Australia and the Northern Territory. The role forms part of a multidisciplinary aeromedical crew providing emergency and primary health care to people in regional, rural, and remote communities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Report to the Deputy Head of Flight Operations and conduct flight operations for aeromedical evacuations, inter-hospital patient transfers, and healthcare personnel charter flights across the Northern Territory and South Australia.
- Provide emergency aeromedical flight services in the outback, deliver charter flights for the primary health care team and associated equipment, and complete routine patient transfers.
- Work as an integral member of a multidisciplinary crew alongside health professionals to provide emergency and primary health care in regional, rural, and remote communities.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold a CASA CPL (A), a current IPC with three renewals, at least 2,000 total flight hours, at least 1,500 hours in command, 100 hours of night flying experience, and recent single-pilot IFR experience within the past two years.
- Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and should demonstrate reliability, responsiveness, self-motivation, sound organisation, and effective decision-making in high-pressure situations while reflecting RFDS values of care, integrity, collaboration, and innovation.
- Applications are enhanced by experience operating aircraft in remote areas, experience flying PC-12 or PC-24 aircraft, knowledge of rural and remote Australia, emergency retrieval practices and training, and turbine-engine aircraft experience.
- The recruitment process may include mandatory vaccination requirements, national police and Working with Children clearances, a medical assessment, and a functional capacity evaluation.
