About This Role
Transavia is recruiting an experienced B737NG Captain to serve as a TRI/TRE instructor in the team establishing its new Brussels base, in a 24–32-hour-per-week role. The position involves flying challenging European routes, including Greek islands, city-break destinations and snow-covered airports in the far north, while supporting safe and efficient flight operations, passenger service and close cooperation with the full crew. The fleet is expected to transition to the Airbus A321neo in the coming years, with retraining provided.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as a B737NG Instructor/Captain from Transavia’s new Brussels base, flying a broad range of challenging and dynamic routes throughout Europe, including Greek islands, popular city-break destinations and snow-covered airports in the far north.
- Work as part of Transavia’s professional team of more than 700 pilots, ensuring the safety and efficiency of flight operations, delivering excellent passenger service and cooperating closely with the entire crew.
- Depending on qualifications and experience, perform TRI or TRE duties, and complete retraining for the future Airbus A321neo transition.
What We Offer
The package includes a gross starting salary of €11,220 per month, plus €39 gross per block hour paid monthlythe page notes that block-hour volume can exceed 100 hours per month. It also states that the salary rises to an average of €300 gross per year, excluding indexation where applicable. The role offers a permanent contract, with taxes paid in the Netherlands and social security in Belgium, an 8% year-end payment based on gross base salary, holiday allowance and a pension plan with a 10% employer contribution. A loss-of-licence scheme is included, and Transavia fully reimburses the uniform, parking costs and medical examinations. The definitive roster is issued 35 days in advance. The package includes 20 vacation days under the Belgian accrual scheme plus 10 public holidays pro rata, and part-time work may be available from 12 months after the line check. After three months of employment, staff travel within Transavia through ID95 is availableafter one year, access extends to a worldwide airline network at attractive rates, subject to availability.
Requirements
- Candidates must hold a valid EASA ATPL with TRI or TRE privileges, a valid ME/IR (A) PBN, a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate and ICAO ELP 5, with an upgrade to ELP 6 required during training. A valid Boeing 737NG type rating is required, together with at least 3,500 current total flight hours, including at least 1,000 hours as Captain on type, of which 50 hours must have been flown in the last six months. For safe participation in the wet drill, candidates must be able to swim one full length of a lane without aids. A valid EU passport is required. The selection process takes place in one day at EPST in Utrecht
- Compass tests are part of the procedure and may be completed remotely.
