About This Role
Tradewind Aviation is seeking a full-time Ground Instructor for its Oxford operation. The instructor will conduct the initial PC-12 ground-school curriculum, teach aerodynamics, aircraft systems, navigation, weather, regulations, and procedures, and support the Director of Training with the development of training systems and processes. The role also includes student assessment, mentoring, recordkeeping, coordination with flight instructors, occasional travel to other training locations, and flexible work including weekends.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct the initial ground-school curriculum for the PC-12 and assist the Director of Training in researching, evaluating, and implementing new or revised training systems, policies, and procedures. Deliver engaging and informative ground-instruction sessions covering aerodynamics, aircraft systems, navigation, weather, regulations, and procedures. Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure student comprehension and progress, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with flight instructors and other staff to integrate ground and flight training effectively. Serve as a mentor and resource for students by providing guidance and support, maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and training milestones in accordance with documentation protocols, and uphold high standards of professionalism, safety, and ethical conduct. Some travel to other training locations is required as needed, and the instructor must be able to work flexible hours and weekends

Requirements
- Preferred qualifications include previous experience as an instructor or teacher, preferably involving single-engine turboprop aircraft
- strong knowledge of aviation principles, regulations, and best practices
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- demonstrated proficiency in instructional delivery using multimedia tools and techniques
- and flexibility to accommodate changing student needs, schedules, and instructional requirements. Candidates should be passionate about aviation, committed to instructional excellence and safety, proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, and able to learn new software and systems efficiently. Physical requirements include the strength to lift 40 lbs, the ability to enter the cockpit without assistance, the ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods, effective communication by telephone and in meetings, and the ability to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and standard office equipment. Working conditions involve prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and using computers and office equipment in an indoor office setting with standard lighting and temperature.
