About This Role
Life Flight Network is hiring a full-time float fixed wing pilot to safely operate Pilatus aircraft transporting critically ill and injured patients. The role covers open shifts caused by line-pilot vacations and leave across Renton, Hillsboro, and Aurora, with seven shifts guaranteed per pay period that may occur at different bases. The pilot must work varied shifts, may be assigned on-call shifts, and must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, safety, and patient-service skills in a demanding air-medical environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate fixed wing aircraft safely to transport critically ill and injured patients. Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections
- plan flights
- load patients, passengers, baggage, and cargo
- and analyze weather conditions. Maintain required logs and records and prepare written reports. Clean the aircraft, unit quarters, and hangar. Follow Life Flight Network's safety and risk-management culture, including the Safety and Risk Management Agreement, SMS, and related policies
- preserve safety rules
- immediately report safety and risk-management concerns
- and communicate relevant safety information while working with safety, quality-management, and other leaders as needed.

Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- a bachelor's degree in aviation or a related field is preferred. Candidates need at least six years of professional pilot experience, a FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate, 2,500 hours of airplane PIC time, 1,000 hours in aircraft with retractable landing gear, 1,500 turbine hours, 500 hours in a turboprop aircraft, 250 hours of instrument time, and 250 hours of unaided night experience. Twenty-five hours operating a PC-12 and successful completion of ground and flight school within the previous 12 months, recent air-medical transportation experience, and mountain experience are preferred. If the candidate does not hold a single-engine ATP at hire, it must be added during initial-hire training or no later than the first annual recurrent training event
- the candidate pays for any required written ATP examination, while Life Flight Network covers the additional checkride. Applicants must hold a current FAA Second Class flight physical, be proficient in Microsoft Office, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, provide customer service to all organizational levels, and travel through the service area using a personal or company vehicle. A valid driver's license, a well-maintained automobile, and proof of auto insurance are required. All candidates are subject to drug screening and a background investigation.
