About This Role
Westair Aviation is recruiting pilots for combined Captain and First Officer assignments on its B1900/B350 fleet. Pilots will be responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft, passenger and crew safety and comfort, regulatory compliance, flight preparation, aircraft handling, communications, emergency response and accurate operational reporting. The position also involves close coordination with co-pilots, cabin crew and ground personnel, ongoing training and extended travel assignments in Africa.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate the assigned aircraft in compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Complete pre-flight inspections and review flight plans and weather conditions before departure.
- Communicate with air traffic control and navigate throughout the flight.
- Conduct take-offs and landings while managing aircraft systems and controls.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and take all necessary actions to protect safety.
- Coordinate with co-pilots, cabin crew and ground personnel to support smooth flight operations.
- Maintain accurate records of flight activities and meet all reporting requirements.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Requirements
- This combined vacancy covers Captains – Non OGP and First Officers – OGP.
- Captains must hold a valid CPL or ATPL, hold the required B1900/B350 rating, have a minimum of 1,500 hours total flight time, at least 100 hours of multi-engine time and 50 hours of PIC time on type, and be willing to travel in Africa for extensive periods of 6–12 weeks.
- First Officers must hold a valid CPL, the required B1900/B350 rating, a minimum of 500 hours total flight time, at least 250 hours of multi-engine time and 10 hours on type, and must also be willing to travel for 6–12-week periods in Africa.
- For both crew groups, preference is given to candidates with Pro Line 21, Pro Line Fusion and G1000 endorsements.
