About This Role
Air Methods — the leading U.S. air medical provider, operating locally under the Mercy Air program — is hiring a Fixed Wing Pilot based in North Las Vegas, Nevada, to fly a Pilatus PC-12 (IFR) in single-pilot air-ambulance service. The pilot ensures the aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy and safe to transport the medical crew and patient to the receiving hospital within an assigned operational area, operating around the clock in compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations, the Aeronautical Information Manual, and the company's General Operations Manual. The position runs a 7/7 schedule of 12-hour shifts and offers a base salary of $91,820–$102,576 (with 110% ACCRA) plus experience and relocation stipends, off-duty housing, and a sign-on bonus.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, serving as final authority for the operation of the aircraft and for the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.
- Complete a full pre-flight walk-around before every flight and upon completion of each flight, verifying the aircraft is airworthy by signing off the Daily Flight Log.
- Be thoroughly familiar with all aircraft and medical systems of the backup aircraft used at the operational area, and ensure the medical flight team is familiar and comfortable with the medical interior and systems.
- Conduct detailed flight planning to exacting standards on short notice, complete all required documentation, and participate regularly in company meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach.
- Maintain regular scheduled attendance on a 7/7 roster of 12-hour shifts, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Education and experience: an Associate's degree (or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school) plus two to five years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Recency: pilots must have flown in category within the previous 24 months. IFR Program flight-time minimums: 2,500 total flight hours with a minimum of 2,000 hours in category, 1,000 hours PIC in category, 500 hours cross-country (at least 50 of which at night), 500 hours turbine, 100 hours night flight time, and 100 hours of flight in actual instrument conditions in category. Certificates and ratings: an instrument rating for the category and class of aircraft (an ATP rating in category satisfies this requirement)
- a fixed-wing multi-engine rating for twin-engine aircraft, or a commercial single-engine land certificate for single-engine aircraft
- and a First- or Second-Class FAA Medical certificate. Operation and safety: as a flight crew member, must maintain a weight not exceeding 250 pounds and be under 70 years of age.
