About This Role
Air Methods Pilots is seeking a fixed-wing pilot to operate a Native Air PC12 under IFR from Las Cruces, New Mexico, supporting 24/7 air medical transport. The pilot is responsible for safely transporting medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals, maintaining compliance with FAA and company operating standards, and supporting a safety-focused, community-oriented operation. The position offers a 7-days-on/7-days-off schedule with 12-hour shifts and compensation consisting of a base pay range, stipends, and possible experience pay.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The pilot operates Air Methods aircraft safely and legally while ensuring that aircraft and weather conditions are suitable for transporting medical crew and patients within the assigned operational area.
- Duties include completing a preflight inspection and signing the Daily Flight Log before every flight, conducting a full aircraft walk-around before entering the cockpit and after each flight, and retaining final authority for aircraft operations and the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.
- The pilot must understand the aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft used in the area and ensure the medical flight team is familiar and comfortable with the medical interior and systems.
- Additional responsibilities include completing required documentation, conducting detailed flight planning on short notice to exacting standards, participating in company meetings, projects, committees, activities, and community outreach, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements
- Applicants need an associate degree or equivalent education and experience, with a bachelor's degree preferred.
- The pilot must be under 250 pounds, less than 70 years old, and have flown in category within the previous 24 months.
- IFR qualifications require 2,500 total flight hours, including at least 2,000 hours in category, 1,000 PIC hours in category, 500 cross-country hours with at least 50 at night, 500 turbine hours, 100 night flight hours, and 100 hours in actual instrument conditions in category.
- An instrument rating for the applicable category and class is required, although an ATP rating in category satisfies that requirement.
- Commercial single-engine land certification is required for single-engine aircraft, and a first- or second-class FAA medical certificate is required.
- Regular attendance and compliance with Air Methods employment policies are also required.
