About This Role
Tropic Ocean Airways — described on the page as the largest seaplane operator in the Eastern United States — is hiring Second-in-Command pilots (First Officers) for its fleet of Cessna Grand Caravan EX amphibious aircraft. The carrier flies passengers to destinations across Florida, the Northeastern U.S., the Bahamas, and the Caribbean, operating aircraft capable of landing on both water and land. This is a full-time, salaried position offered with a minimum one-year contract, and candidates must be willing and able to work in various locations as required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as Second-in-Command (First Officer) on Cessna Grand Caravan EX seaplane operations, flying passenger service across Florida, the Northeastern U.S., the Bahamas, and the Caribbean aboard aircraft that operate from both water and land.
- The role requires the physical ability to repetitively lift 50 lbs, to sit or stand for extended periods, and to climb stairs throughout the day, and a willingness to be based in and work from various locations as the operation requires.

Requirements
- an FAA Commercial Pilot certificate with both Airplane Single-Engine Land (ASEL) and Airplane Single-Engine Sea (ASES) ratings
- at least a Second-Class Medical certificate
- a valid U.S. passport or Green Card
- and an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit. Applicants must also be physically able to repetitively lift 50 lbs, sit or stand for extended periods, and climb stairs throughout the day. Preferred qualifications include Garmin G1000 glass-cockpit experience, turbine time, Cessna 208 experience, and seaplane experience (none stated with an hours figure).
