About This Role
Zachry Group's corporate aviation department in San Antonio, Texas is hiring an experienced First Officer / Second-in-Command (SIC) to operate a Cessna Citation Sovereign (CE-680) under a Part 91 corporate flight department. The First Officer supports the Pilot-in-Command in the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, reporting to the PIC on each assigned flight and sharing responsibility for the safety of crew and passengers. The role demands a high level of professionalism, discretion, sound aeronautical decision-making, and the ability to work within a small, team-oriented executive flight operation committed to the department's Safety Management System (SMS).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate the aircraft safely and efficiently while reporting to the Pilot-in-Command on each assigned flight, with attention to airworthiness, weather factors, flight regulations, air traffic control procedures, and the use of air navigational aids to maintain maximum safety.
- Work within the Zachry Industrial aviation department to maintain a culture of safety and comfortable air transportation, actively participating in the Safety Management System (SMS) and remaining familiar with its policies and procedures.
- Assist the PIC in decisions on the start, delay, cancellation, or diversion of a flight when operating conditions dictate.
- Maintain strict adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and SMS policies, and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of departmental safety initiatives.
- Deliver a high standard of passenger service in support of executive travel with professionalism and discretion, assisting passengers with baggage handling and other travel needs as required.
- Maintain all required training, licences, certifications, and currency in line with regulatory and company requirements, collaborate within a small professional aviation team, and perform additional duties or operational assignments as directed by the Chief Pilot or Aviation Manager.
Requirements
- valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
- valid U.S. passport with the ability to travel internationally
- valid driver's licence
- and English language proficiency. Preferred flight experience (explicitly listed under a 'Flight Experience Preferred' heading): Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with multi-engine privileges
- type rating in the Citation Sovereign (CE-680)
- a minimum of three years of corporate aviation experience
- a bachelor's degree
- 2,000 hours total flight time

- 100 hours instrument
- 150 hours night
- and 500 hours turbine time. Additional requirements: experience operating multi-crew aircraft
- current or previous qualification in turbojet aircraft
- clean FAA, DOT, and DOJ records with no violations or deviations within the past seven years
- the ability to reside within one hour of San Antonio International Airport (KSAT) or relocate accordingly
- willingness to travel frequently (domestic and occasional international)
- and availability to work weekends and holidays as operational needs require. Physical requirements include sitting for extended periods during flight operations, working in confined cockpit environments, lifting up to 50 pounds to assist with passenger baggage, and communicating effectively by radio, telephone, email, and operational software.
