About This Role
First Officer position at PSA Airlines, a wholly owned regional subsidiary of American Airlines operating under FAA Part 121. Duties & Responsibilities
- Serving as Second-in-Command (SIC) in accordance with the Company Standardization Program, the First Officer calls the Captain's attention to any deviation from regulations, Company policy, or safe operating practices, and ensures compliance with Company and FAA procedures, directives, and regulations affecting the flight.
- The role includes aiding the Captain in preflight preparation as appropriate, performing a visual preflight (walk-around) inspection before each flight and a visual post-flight inspection after each flight, secondarily assuming all responsibilities of the Captain and full responsibility if the Captain becomes incapacitated, and performing other duties as directed by the Captain.
- The First Officer is authorized to take action as necessary to resolve any problem or situation that may compromise safety or compliance and to direct the flight crew in a safe and efficient manner to meet the Company's operational requirements.

Requirements
- Required qualifications: an instrument rating and a commercial pilot license with multi-engine
- ability to obtain a First Class Medical certificate
- ability to obtain a valid passport
- ability to obtain an FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit
- the applicant must be able to meet the necessary hours and qualification under the ATP requirements or the restricted ATP (R-ATP) requirements
- must be able to speak, read, and write in English
- and, if hired, must be able to demonstrate authorization to work in the United States. All employees must also pass a fingerprint-based criminal history records check (per 49 CFR 1542.209) and a pre-employment drug screen.
