About This Role
Western Global Airlines is recruiting a US home-based First Officer for its B747-400 or MD11 fleet, with an August 24, 2026 class date; the posting lists Estero, FL as the location. The company provides worldwide air-cargo charter flights and describes its platform as high-tech, serving e-commerce, express, freight-forwarding, logistics, nonprofit, and governmental customers. The First Officer serves as second-in-command and performs flight duties in accordance with the Captain's direction, applicable regulations, company manuals, and operational directives. The tour of duty is 17 days away from home base.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The First Officer acts as the flight's second-in-command and complies with all regulations and directives governing the conduct of the flight in a manner suitable to the Captain.
- The role requires operation in accordance with Western Global Airlines' approved or accepted manuals and, where applicable, its Operations Specifications, 14 CFRs, FAA Orders, Airworthiness Directives, Advisory Circulars, other Directives, and manufacturer recommendations.
- The First Officer also complies with assigned administrative programs covering airport and route qualification, flight-time limitations, currency requirements such as physicals, takeoffs and landings, and home-study courses, as well as pilot flight equipment, uniform discipline, manuals, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- Required qualifications are a current and valid FAA ATPL, a valid FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate, an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit, ICAO English Level IV, at least 2,500 hours of total flying experience, no history of accidents or incidents, and a valid US passport permitting unrestricted international travel because of military contract requirements. Because the role is safety-sensitive, the applicant must be able to pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and a 10-year background check. Previous Part 121 airline or aviation experience is preferred. Preferred and ideal skills include a college degree in Aviation or a related field
- a previous B747-400 or Boeing aircraft type rating, or an MD-11 or Airbus aircraft type rating
- 1,000 hours of flight time under Part 121 operations
- and PIC experience in operations under either § 135.243(a)(1) or § 91.1053(a)(2)(i), or any combination of those operations. Up to 500 hours of military flight time as PIC of a multiengine, turbine-powered, fixed-wing airplane may count toward the 1,000-hour requirement.
