About This Role
Jet Aviation is recruiting a First Officer to operate its Gulfstream G550 in a private, VIP business-aviation environment based in Singapore. Working closely with the Captain and the Flight Operations team, the First Officer supports the highest standards of flight safety, operational excellence, and discreet VIP service, and must be prepared to assume command and full responsibility for the aircraft, crew, passengers, and load should the Commander become incapacitated. The role suits a polished, safety-focused pilot who thrives in a demanding private-aviation setting.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The First Officer actively participates in the conduct of the flight in the role assigned by the Commander and assumes command when directed, taking over the Commander's authority and responsibility for the aircraft, crew, passengers, and load — in accordance with the Operations Manual (OM-A) — in the event of the Commander's incapacitation.
- Duties include participating in flight preparation and crew briefings, contributing to pre-flight planning and operational decision-making, and continuously monitoring the flight's progress to remain ready to assume command.
- The First Officer operates the Gulfstream G550 in accordance with approved procedures, checklists, company policies, and applicable regulations, and maintains thorough knowledge of the aircraft's systems, limitations, performance, and procedures.
- Responsibilities also cover obtaining and reviewing aeronautical, meteorological, NOTAM, and operational information, reviewing the aircraft's technical status and anticipated load before departure, completing and verifying operational flight plans, mass-and-balance documentation, flight logs, and technical records, and coordinating with Flight Operations, Dispatch, Maintenance, Ground Operations, and other personnel.
- Throughout, the First Officer ensures compliance with the Operations Manual, applicable Air Navigation Orders, and all relevant regulations while upholding the highest standards of safety, professionalism, discretion, and customer service for VIP clients.
Requirements
- Applicants must hold a valid ATPL or CPL with a G550 type rating, issued by the FAA, UK CAA, EASA, or another ICAO-recognized authority as applicable, together with a current Class 1 Medical Certificate. Previous experience operating in international airspace is required, along with strong knowledge of Gulfstream G550 aircraft systems, performance, limitations, and operating procedures, and a solid understanding of international aviation regulations, flight operations, and safety-management principles. Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, public holidays, and extended duty periods, is required. Experience operating in challenging weather and diverse operational environments is preferred, previous private-jet or business-aviation experience is highly advantageous, and previous Gulfstream experience — particularly on the G550 or other Gulfstream large-cabin aircraft — is a strong advantage.
