About This Role
Porter Airlines is hiring First Officers to operate the De Havilland Dash 8-400 turboprop, based at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) or Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW), Canada. The posting advertises industry-leading Dash 8-400 pay and recognition of a candidate's current years-of-service in position operating the Dash 8-400 at other carriers. Porter is expanding rapidly, welcoming over 1,200 new pilots over the next 4 years, with what it describes as the fastest possible upgrade to a narrow-body jet Captain role in Canada. Porter operates a fleet of Embraer E195-E2 and De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft across North America.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Porter pilots are leaders who work collaboratively with other team members to achieve organizational goals and meet the Flying Refined service standards, communicating openly, honestly and respectfully. Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations
- understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy. Operate every flight safely, holding to the highest personal and professional standards. Behavioural competencies: concern for safety, teamwork, passenger/customer service, initiative, results focus and fostering communication.
Requirements
- Airline Transport Pilot License (Transport Canada) or IATRA.
- Minimum 1,000 hours total time.
- Must possess the legal ability to work in Canada.
- Must posses a current, valid Canadian Passport, or a current, valid International Passport with a valid US Crewmember Visa (C-1/D).
- Pilots that do not meet the minimum requirements may be considered based on experience and other factors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aviation College or University Degree is an asset.
