About This Role
Amentum is hiring a full-time, on-site First Officer and Second in Command in Las Vegas to operate B737-600NG aircraft carrying passengers and cargo. The role supports the Pilot in Command, serves as either pilot flying or pilot monitoring, and must be prepared to assume command if the PIC becomes incapacitated. Operations are conducted under applicable FAA regulations and customer-amended Part 121 requirements in a demanding jet-cockpit environment that may involve emergencies, severe weather, turbulence, high noise, extreme temperatures, and other physical and mental stressors. The position requires an unrestricted FAA ATP with a B737 type rating, 1,500 fixed-wing in-seat flight hours, a First Class Medical, TS/SCI clearance, and specified current US credentials.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as Second in Command of a B737-600NG aircraft transporting passengers and cargo.
- Assist the Pilot in Command and assume the PIC role if the captain becomes incapacitated.
- Protect the safety of passengers, crew, cargo, and aircraft while complying with applicable regulations, company policies, and Air Traffic Control directives.
- Manipulate the flight controls as pilot flying and perform the assigned pilot-monitoring duties during operations.
- Before flight, review maintenance logs, the planned route, weather reports and forecasts, Notices to Air Missions, and pilot information files.
- Maintain working familiarity with the Federal Aviation Regulations, Airman’s Information Manual, aircraft manufacturer’s FCOM, FCTM, and QRH, the customer’s Site Procedures Manual, and the company’s Flight Operations Manual.
- Calculate aircraft weight and balance and takeoff and landing performance data.
- Complete other assigned position-related duties, support emergency-response and safety activities, comply with quality-system and customer-contract requirements, and follow all applicable operational, safety, quality, and environmental procedures and policies.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold a current US DOT/FAA First Class Medical Certificate, including an EKG if over 39 years old, and a US DOT/FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate with a B737 type rating and no restrictions.
- They must have logged at least 1,500 total in-seat hours as a crewmember in fixed-wing powered aircraft.
- A current US DOD TS/SCI security clearance, current US DHS/TSA Las Vegas airport badge, current US passport or valid US birth certificate, and current US state-issued driver’s license are required.
- Pilots must comply with all applicable US DOT 14 CFR requirements, specifically Parts 60, 61, 67, 117, 120, and 121, including the age-65 limit as amended by the customer.
- They must also maintain all training and checking currency required by company policy and customer-amended 14 CFR Part 121 requirements.
