About This Role
British Airways is recruiting Direct Entry Pilots for its long-haul fleets at Heathrow, open to UK CAA licence holders (reference 12095, closing date 31/8/2026). Permanent full time. Joiners start on one of the four long-haul fleets and can later transfer to another long-haul fleet or to short-haul for command. Job opportunities are available on all fleets; CCQ courses are only available on long-haul Airbus fleets, and 777 pilots operate from LHR and LGW and will also operate the Boeing 777X when it enters service.

Requirements
- Current type rating with a minimum of 1500 hours total time, including a minimum of 500 hours on a relevant aeroplane type (max 100 hours may be in a suitable simulator)
- Flying experience on a relevant aeroplane type within the past 12 months
- UK Part-FCL licence (ATPL(A) or meeting the hours requirements to obtain an ATPL(A))
- UK issued CAA Class 1 medical certificate with at least 6 months validity remaining from date of joining
- Height between 1.57m and 1.91m (taller pilots may apply subject to a functionality check)
- Good level of physical fitness
- Spoken and written English ICAO level 6
- Valid passport with minimum 12 months before expiry
- Able to comply with British Airways' uniform standards
- Ability to swim 50m followed by treading water for 3 minutes and assist people in water
