About This Role
Permanent full-time direct-entry pilot employment with British Airways, flying Airbus A320 aircraft from London Heathrow. The role focuses on delivering an excellent passenger experience and maintaining high professional flying standards. Pilots begin on the short-haul Airbus fleet, with opportunities to remain on short-haul as a Captain, transfer to one of four long-haul fleets, or pursue training, recruitment, management and project roles.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The pilot will fly British Airways Airbus A320 operations from London Heathrow and provide the best possible flight experience for every passenger.
- The role requires pilots to perform to the highest standards while operating across an international short-haul network.
- The position also offers opportunities to progress into Captain, Senior First Officer, training, recruitment, management and wider project work.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold a current A320 type rating, have at least 500 hours on type excluding simulator time, and have flown an A320-family aircraft within the previous 12 months.
- Accepted current UK-issued CAA Flight Crew Licences are ATPL(A), fATPL(A) or MPL.
- Candidates need a UK Class 1 medical with at least six months’ validity remaining on joining, must meet the stated height and physical-fitness requirements, and must have ICAO English Level 6.
- They must also hold a passport valid for at least 12 months, comply with British Airways uniform standards, and be able to swim 50 metres, tread water for three minutes, use a lifejacket in the water and pull themselves into a life raft.
