About This Role
First Officer position on the Dash 8 with Perimeter Aviation LP, a Canadian regional carrier established in 1960 and a subsidiary of Exchange Income Corporation that has grown through its merger with Bearskin Airlines. With roughly 900 employees and a fleet of 45+ aircraft (Metro 2/3/23, Merlin and Dash 8), Perimeter provides scheduled passenger and freight service to Northern Manitoba and Northern Ontario, 24/7 North American charter, medical evacuation and a full-service maintenance facility, operating from bases in Winnipeg and Thompson, Manitoba and across Ontario. Reporting to the Assistant Chief Pilot, the CAR 705 First Officer flies scheduled passenger operations with safety, passenger comfort and on-time performance as the top priorities, supporting the Pilot-in-Command through all phases of flight while developing toward an eventual Captain upgrade.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct flights in strict compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual and Company Operations Manual.
- Assist the Pilot-in-Command in the management and operation of the flight, including participating in the execution of all cockpit procedures, and carry out take-offs and landings under the PIC's authority.
- Fuel the aircraft and complete a thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspection on the Captain's behalf.
- Load, unload and secure cargo and freight as required.
- Continuously improve flying skills and knowledge with the intention of one day being ready to assume a Captain position, and continue to meet and exceed Transport Canada pilot qualification standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Hold either a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) together with the Individual Aeroplane Type Rating - Aeroplane (IATRA) written exam, or an Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
- Minimum 500 hours total flight time.
- Category 1 Medical.
- A current Group 1 Instrument Rating.
- Fluency in English with effective verbal and listening comprehension.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations.
- Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training is considered an asset.
