About This Role
Perimeter Aviation LP is a Canadian subsidiary of Exchange Income Corporation, established in 1960, with approximately 900 employees and a fleet of more than 45 aircraft including Metro variants, Merlin and Dash 8 aircraft. The company provides scheduled passenger and freight services to Northern Manitoba and Northern Ontario, 24/7 North American charter services, medical evacuation services and a full-service maintenance facility with design engineering, NDT and Garrett turbine engine services. This 705 First Officer position reports to the Assistant Chief Pilot, transports thousands of passengers each year and prioritizes safe flight operations while also considering passenger comfort and on-time performance. The listed work locations are airport sites in Mississauga, Thompson, Timmins and Winnipeg.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Assistant Chief Pilot, the 705 First Officer transports passengers while prioritizing safety, passenger comfort and on-time performance. The First Officer conducts flights in strict accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual and Company Operations Manual. Duties include assisting the PIC with management and operation of the flight and participating in all cockpit procedures
- fueling the aircraft
- completing thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections on behalf of the Captain
- carrying out take-offs and landings under the PIC’s authority
- and loading, unloading and securing cargo and freight as required. The pilot is expected to continue improving flying skills and knowledge with the goal of eventually being ready for a Captain position, continue to meet and exceed Transport Canada pilot qualification standards, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with the Individual Aeroplane Type Rating—Aeroplane (IATRA), or an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), at least 500 hours of total flight time, a Category 1 medical and a current Group 1 instrument rating. Pilots must be fluent in English and demonstrate effective verbal and listening comprehension. They must be able to obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and any additional authorizations, and must be physically able to perform all listed duties. The role involves travel by aircraft and other means, indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lb.
