Sun Country Airlines is recruiting for its College Bridge Program First Officer track tied to Minnesota State University, Mankato. The program is a structured, five-step pathway that carries an aviation-major student from Commercial-certificate holder to a Sun Country First Officer flying the Boeing 737NG across the US (including Hawaii and Alaska), the Caribbean, Mexico and Europe on the airline's scheduled, charter (military, sports and event-based), cargo and seasonal leisure network. Candidates enroll in the designated flight-training major at MSU Mankato that qualifies them for a Restricted ATP under FAR 61.160, apply through airlineapps.com while holding a Commercial certificate, secure a flight instructor position with North Star Aviation to build time, complete 300 hours of dual flight instruction, then interview and receive a Contingent Job Offer conditional on graduating with the qualifying major and RATP eligibility. Successful applicants complete an in-house Certified Training Program taught by Sun Country instructors before starting the line, with the airline advertising accelerated upgrade to Captain in an expected 18-24 months.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Progress through Sun Country's College Bridge Program pathway from student pilot to line First Officer.
- Build required flight experience by working as a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII, optionally MEI) with North Star Aviation and completing 300 hours of dual flight instruction in aircraft.
- Upon selection and hire, complete Sun Country's in-house Certified Training Program and fly as a First Officer on the Boeing 737NG, operating the airline's scheduled service, charter, cargo and seasonal leisure flights throughout the US (including Hawaii and Alaska), the Caribbean, Mexico and Europe, with an advertised accelerated upgrade to Captain in an expected 18-24 months.

Requirements
- Enrollment as a Junior or Senior in the designated flight-training major at Minnesota State University, Mankato that qualifies the student for a Restricted ATP under FAR 61.160. To apply, candidates must hold a Commercial certificate with Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings, attend one in-person recruiting event, and complete the required one-on-one interview for entry into the College Bridge Program. - and Restricted ATP eligibility (aviation college background) with at least 21 years of age. Recent flight experience is preferred. Flight-time minimums are 1,000 total hours (of which up to 100 may be simulator time), including 250 hours PIC in an airplane, 200 hours cross-country (100 of which must be PIC cross-country in an airplane), 100 hours night (25 of which must be PIC night in an airplane), 75 hours instrument and 25 hours multi-engine. Hiring is conditioned on receiving a Contingent Job Offer after a successful interview and graduating with the appropriate major, including flight training, to qualify for RATP under FAR 61.160.
