About This Role
Mid-Ohio Aviation is hiring a Captain / First Officer for its Part 91 flight department in Wooster, Ohio. The department operates two G5000 Citation Excel aircraft with a dedicated maintenance team; the position reports to the Chief Pilot based in Smithville, Ohio and offers a stable operation with unparalleled owner backing in a family-oriented, professional and collaborative environment. Pilots average 300 to 350 flight hours per year, 2 to 4 overnights and 10 to 13 flight duty days per month, with 95% travel required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as Captain or First Officer on company aircraft and ensure compliance with FAA regulations and the Flight Operations Manual.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers, actively participate in the Safety Management System, and complete administrative duties or projects assigned by the Aviation Department Manager or Chief Pilot.
- Provide excellent customer service to company associates and guests.
- Study and maintain thorough knowledge of FAA Regulations, the Flight Operations Manual, Aircraft Flight Manuals and checklists.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- The operating schedule averages 300 to 350 flight hours per year, 2 to 4 overnights and 10 to 13 days of flight duty per month.

Requirements
- This posting covers both Captain and First Officer qualification tracks.
- A Captain must hold an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP), have 3000 hours total time with 500 hours in multiengine aircraft, and have turbine time.
- A First Officer must hold a Commercial Pilot qualification and have 1500 hours total time with 100 hours in multiengine aircraft.
- Candidates must hold an FAA First or Second Class Medical and a valid passport, demonstrate excellent flying abilities, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, and be highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- The role requires effective communication with team members and company associates, motivation to help maintain a great working culture, and the initiative and skills to complete collateral duties supporting the flight department.
- Candidates should demonstrate safety, customer focus, integrity, collaboration, teamwork, entrepreneurism, continuous improvement and results-oriented accountability.
- Travel is 95%.
