About This Role
Empire Airlines is seeking a Part 121 ATR Captain to provide safe, efficient, compliant and professional flight services from Missoula. The captain is responsible for aircraft operation throughout all phases of flight, weather and cargo-safety monitoring, fuel and loading verification, dispatch coordination, regulatory compliance, crew supervision and evaluation, accurate reporting, and professional leadership for the company and its customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely maneuver the aircraft during all phases of flight
- monitor weather, flight conditions and cargo safety
- make go/no-go decisions
- verify fuel requirements and loading
- and select alternate destinations when necessary. Maintain command during unexpected situations, communicate with stations, towers, flight controllers and dispatchers, file FAA reports, report unusual aircraft behavior to dispatch or maintenance, record flight hours with Dispatch, and follow FAA rest requirements and company directives. Supervise and evaluate staff, stay current with regulatory and procedural changes, maintain knowledge of company manuals and policies, provide constructive leadership, review daily company communications, submit accurate reports and documents on time, model ethical and professional behavior, and support Empire Airlines’ mission.
What We Offer

Requirements
- Applicants must hold an ATP certificate with a MEL rating and a first-class medical certificate.
- The role requires excellent written and oral communication skills, compliance with the company’s FAA/DOT Drug and Alcohol Program, IFR currency and proficiency, at least 2,500 hours of total time, 1,000 hours of PIC time, 1,000 hours of MEL time, 300 hours of turbine or turboprop time, and 500 hours of crew time meeting Part 121.436 pilot-qualification requirements.
