About This Role
Empire Airlines is hiring a full-time Part 121 ATR Captain in Billings, Montana. The Captain is responsible for conducting safe, efficient, compliant and professional flight services, exercising command throughout all phases of flight, making operational decisions, supervising and evaluating staff, and maintaining compliance with FAA regulations, company procedures and rest requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely maneuver the ATR during all phases of flight
- monitor weather, flight conditions and cargo safety
- verify go/no-go decisions, fuel requirements, weather variables and aircraft loading
- and make alternate-destination decisions when the intended destination is unavailable. Maintain command during unexpected situations and ensure effective communication with stations, towers, flight controllers and dispatch. File FAA-required reports, report unusual aircraft behavior or performance to dispatch or maintenance, accurately record flight hours with Dispatch, and follow FAA rest requirements and company directives. Supervise and evaluate staff, remain current on regulatory and procedural changes, maintain thorough knowledge of company manuals, handbooks and policies, and serve as a positive, constructive and communicative leader. Requirements
- Applicants must hold an ATP certificate with a MEL rating and a first-class medical certificate.
- The role requires excellent oral and written communication skills, compliance with the company’s FAA/DOT Drug and Alcohol Program, and current IFR currency and proficiency.
- Minimum flight experience is 2,500 total time, 1,000 PIC hours, 1,000 MEL hours, 300 turbine/turboprop hours, and 500 hours of crew time under Part 121.436 Pilot Qualification.
