About This Role
Air New England is seeking an Assistant Director of Operations / Part 135 Pilot for a blended flying and operational-leadership role in its growing Part 135 organization. The successful candidate will continue to fly regularly as a Part 135 pilot while helping manage day-to-day operations, supporting the pilot group, and coordinating closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Operations, President, Vice President, Chief Pilot, Charter Department, and other company leaders. The role is intended for someone who can move effectively between the cockpit and the operational side of the business without becoming overly bureaucratic, with potential to develop into the company’s Director of Operations position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as a Part 135 pilot in company aircraft while assisting with day-to-day flight operations and operational control.
- Provide leadership and support to the company’s pilot group, and work closely with the Vice President and Charter Department to coordinate daily operations.
- Help resolve scheduling, crew, aircraft, weather, maintenance, and other operational issues.
- Promote consistent compliance with company procedures, Operations Specifications, and applicable FAA regulations.
- Assist with FAA correspondence, inspections, surveillance, and certificate-management matters.
- Review operational practices and identify opportunities to improve procedures.
- Take primary responsibility for revising and maintaining company manuals, including the General Operations Manual, Training Manual, and related policies and procedures, with assistance from the Assistant Director of Operations.
- Support pilot training, standardization, and communication, and participate in the continued development of the company’s safety and compliance culture.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold an ATP and have at least three years of qualifying PIC experience flying under Part 121 or Part 135.
- The role requires thorough knowledge of FAA regulations, strong communication skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and regulatory knowledge.
- Candidates must be willing to address operational issues before they become problems and should be prepared to contribute both as a company pilot and as a member of the operational leadership team.
