About This Role
Carson Air is accepting applications to its talent community for future Metro First Officer opportunities based in Calgary, although a position may not be immediately available. The role offers IFR cargo-flying experience in Western Canada aboard turbine-powered, pressurized, high-performance Metro aircraft, including hand-flying, multi-engine, instrument-weather, two-crew and mountain operations. The Calgary crew typically flies two or three times per week, returns to home base at the end of each day and works a Monday-to-Friday rotation. Duties & Responsibilities
- The First Officer assists the Captain in carrying out flight duties safely, efficiently and on time, in accordance with applicable regulations, customer requirements and company expectations.
- The operational environment involves IFR cargo flying in Western Canada using turbine-powered, pressurized Metro aircraft and provides experience in hand-flying, multi-engine operations, instrument weather, two-crew operations and mountain flying.
- Calgary crews typically complete two or three flying assignments per week and return to home base at the end of each day.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold a commercial pilot licence with a multi-engine IFR rating and have no Transport Canada violations or suspensions.
- Carson Air prefers 500 hours of total flight time, 100 hours of multi-engine flight time, completed IATRA examinations, Metroliner experience and an aviation diploma.
- Candidates must demonstrate organizational ability, attention to detail, computer skills, familiarity with the Internet, and good oral and written communication.
- Successful applicants must sign a Training Bond Agreement unless they already hold a current SW4 type rating.
