About This Role
Jet Access is hiring a typed and current Challenger 604 Captain (PIC) for its Zionsville, Indiana base at KTYQ, with a requirement to remain local for a 90-minute call-out. The Captain commands managed and charter aircraft, holds operational control and final go/no-go authority, leads and mentors First Officers, and is responsible for flight planning, safety and regulatory compliance, client service, maintenance coordination, security, and domestic and international operations. Applicants must bring an ATP, First Class Medical, 3,000 hours of total flight time, 1,500 PIC hours, 500 multi-engine PIC hours, and 250 hours each of CL-604 PIC time in type and turbine PIC time on assigned aircraft, along with aircraft training completed within the previous 12 months. The field-based, aircraft-based schedule includes extended domestic and international trips, evenings, weekends, and on-call periods. Compensation includes a $200,000-$225,000 annual base salary, paid professional development and recurrent training, paid vacation and holidays, and discounted flight training.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Command and leadership: The Captain holds command authority across a diverse fleet of managed and charter aircraft, serves as the senior crewmember on each assignment, exercises operational control, leads the flight crew, represents the Jet Access brand at the highest level of professionalism, and helps develop the next generation of Jet Access aviators. The Captain sets the tone for each flight by modeling the company's safety culture, professionalism, and service standards
- provides active mentorship and in-flight guidance to assigned First Officers
- delivers honest, constructive post-flight feedback
- fosters open communication, mutual respect, and shared accountability for safety and mission success
- and communicates observations about First Officer performance and development to the Chief Pilot to support crew progression.
- Flight operations and safety: Conduct aircraft operations in accordance with the Flight Operations Manual, applicable FARs, and Jet Access policies. Exercise operational control on behalf of the Director of Operations and make final go/no-go decisions with safety as the non-negotiable priority. Maintain current proficiency and currency as the required crewmember in command on all assigned aircraft types. Lead pre-flight planning, weather analysis, NOTAM review, and all other preparation activities for the assigned crew, while ensuring compliance with flight- and duty-time limitations and required rest periods.
- Client service: Deliver premium flight experiences that exceed aircraft-owner and passenger expectations at every point of contact. Build outstanding client relationships through professional, attentive, and personalized responses to travel needs and preferences. Coordinate itinerary changes and special requirements with the Operations Control Center in real time, conduct thorough preflight briefings, manage in-flight service to the Jet Access standard, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in every environment.
- Aircraft systems and maintenance coordination: Review flight and maintenance logs before each departure to verify airworthiness and coordinate open items with maintenance personnel. Ensure that preflight, post-flight, and routine servicing is completed under established policies and documented accurately. Monitor and document engine trend data when requested by the Maintenance Department, verify that current manuals, charts, and required equipment are aboard and compliant, and coordinate timely required maintenance to minimize effects on aircraft availability.
- Regulatory compliance and documentation: Ensure all flight, aircraft, and passenger records are completed accurately and submitted on time in compliance with FAR Part 135 requirements. Perform Ground and In-flight Security Coordinator duties under 49 CFR 1544.215(b-c) on applicable operations. Verify that crew members and passengers hold valid documentation for international travel and that customs and immigration requirements are met. Conduct international arrivals and departures in compliance with FAA, ICAO, and applicable foreign aviation authority regulations, and complete special projects and initiatives that support Jet Access's continued growth and success.

Requirements
- Required qualifications: The candidate must hold an ATP Certificate and a current First Class Medical Certificate
- have 3,000 hours of total flying time, 1,500 hours of total Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time, 500 hours of multi-engine PIC time, 250 hours of PIC time in type on the CL-604, and 250 hours of turbine PIC time on assigned aircraft. Initial or recurrent training on the required aircraft type must have been completed within the preceding 12 months. The pilot must have working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations applicable to Part 135 and Part 91 operations, a valid state driver's license and passport, proficiency with digital flight-planning tools, avionics systems, and web-based or mobile flight applications, and must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening. - Base and operating requirements: This is a field-based, aircraft-based position requiring regular in-person presence at assigned base airports and charter departure points. The pilot must be local to the Zionsville/KTYQ base within a 90-minute call-out, be prepared for domestic and international travel, extended overnight trips, and multi-day assignments, and maintain a valid passport for all international operations. Customs and immigration coordination is part of the role. Physical stamina is required for extended flight-duty periods, overnight operations, and variable environmental conditions across diverse destinations, and the pilot must meet and maintain all FAA medical and physical standards required for Part 135 operations as Pilot-in-Command.
- Work style and schedule: The role calls for a commanding yet approachable presence in the cockpit and with clients, clear and direct communication, concise crew coordination, transparent client communication, honest feedback to First Officers, receptiveness to leadership feedback, continuous improvement, and a relationship-oriented, client-focused approach. The schedule varies according to aircraft assignment, charter demand, and aircraft-owner travel requirements
- flexibility, evening and weekend availability, routine on-call periods, and strong self-discipline and organization across active trip sequences, recurrent training, and compliance deadlines are required. When not on trip assignment, Level 10 Meeting and all-hands attendance expectations apply, and communication with dispatch and scheduling is continuous.
- Additional experience that would strengthen an application includes Part 135 or corporate flight operations with a managed fleet operator serving high-net-worth clientele
- a demonstrated record of mentoring and developing junior pilots
- familiarity with Avianis, ForeFlight Dispatch, or similar charter scheduling and dispatch platforms
- extensive international flight operations involving ICAO airspace, overwater procedures, and customs coordination
- and participation in safety management system programs, audit preparation, or fleet standardization initiatives.
