About This Role
British Airways is seeking a Flight Technical Trainer and Theoretical Knowledge Instructor to join its Approved Training Organisation. The role focuses on delivering Embraer-specific technical, procedural and performance instruction through ground-school and simulator-based training, translating complex aircraft and regulatory concepts into practical operational understanding. The instructor will support pilot development, examination success and safe line operations while ensuring training remains aligned with UK CAA requirements, BA standard operating procedures, approved syllabi and current operational practice.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and deliver aircraft-specific technical ground school and simulator-based training in accordance with BA ATO and UK CAA requirements.
- Ensure that training delivery follows approved regulatory syllabi, BA standard operating procedures and current operational practice.
- Create, administer and oversee examinations, assessments and progress tests in line with ATO standards.
- Monitor learner performance, identify performance trends, and provide timely feedback, intervention or escalation when required.
- Maintain accurate, compliant and auditable learner and training records.
- Support instructor standardisation through continuous professional development and help ensure the consistent application of approved instructional techniques, behaviours and assessment standards.

Requirements
- Applicants should have a strong understanding of Approved Training Organisation requirements, UK CAA and Part-FCL provisions, and theoretical knowledge compliance standards. The role requires the ability to translate regulatory and competency frameworks into practical, scalable training solutions
- strong technical knowledge of Embraer aircraft systems and their operational application
- and proficiency with learning technologies including CAE Pelesys, Quantum and learning management systems. Candidates should be able to analyse training performance data, examination outcomes, operational trends and safety insights to support curriculum redesign, identify and implement lean automated processes, and communicate effectively with instructors, subject-matter experts, training leaders and regulatory bodies. Essential experience includes delivering Embraer technical systems and theoretical knowledge as part of aircraft type ratings. The posting also requires experience as a commercial pilot, flight engineer, licensed engineer, flight operations officer or someone with an equivalent aeronautical engineering background.
