About This Role
CAE USA (Defense & Security) is hiring a T-44 Pilot Instructor in Corpus Christi, Texas to deliver T-44A/C aircraft systems and operational-procedures instruction in classroom and simulator environments, supporting US Navy (NATRACOM) multi-engine pilot training. The instructor also serves as a subject-matter expert for curriculum development and lesson review and may pick up collateral duties such as courseware review, publications, safety, quality audits, FCIF and scheduling. This is an on-call, fixed-term role on a DoD contract: only US citizens are eligible and the successful candidate must be able to obtain a DoD personnel security clearance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide pilot procedures and T-44A/C aircraft systems instruction in classroom and simulator environments, and maintain proficiency in operating the Aircrew Training Devices (simulators). Assist as a subject-matter expert in developing curriculum for new type courses and in reviewing and updating existing lessons, and suggest improvements to training policies and procedures. Diagnose and remediate student performance issues
- perform administrative duties such as student record keeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, quality assurance, safety and security. Induct new students into the system, purge old students, generate performance reports and field queries on student progress. Participate in periodic aircraft familiarization flights, maintain proficiency in emergency procedures, and carry out collateral duties (publications, FCIF, scheduling and other tasks) as assigned. Promote a positive attitude toward learning and new technologies, and pass standardization checks and classroom evaluations.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning. Candidates must be either a prior military pilot or hold an FAA flight instructor certificate with Airplane Multi-Engine and Instrument-Airplane ratings. Minimum of 1,000 hours of flight time, with knowledge of DoD rules and regulations governing aircraft operations and the use of DoD forms and documents for instrument flight operations. Must be a graduate of a military instruction course, or equivalent meeting the Navy's Instructor Training Course (A-012-0077) standard, as approved by the Government. Requires a working knowledge of each phase of NATRACOM flight training and of the courseware curricula used in the ICW classroom, plus the administrator functions of the courseware presentation programs in the ICW/EC Training System Utilization Handbook. Strong facilitation and data-analysis skills
- able to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents, respond to sensitive inquiries, generate effective oral and written presentations, and work with minimal supervision. Must maintain proficiency in emergency procedures, be willing to work any shift or day of the week and overtime as required, and travel domestically and internationally. Due to US Government contract requirements, only US citizens are eligible, and the incumbent must be eligible for a DoD personnel security clearance
