About This Role
Airbus India Training Centre (AITC), a 50:50 Airbus–Air India joint venture in Gurugram, is being established as a world-class pilot training center supporting Airbus and Air India operations in South Asia. Under Airbus’ Skill India commitment, the center will provide A320 and A350 flight training to approximately 5,000 new pilots over ten years. The Synthetic Flight Instructor will train airline crews converting to Airbus and promote safe, standardized operation through simulator, classroom, training-device, and lecture-based instruction.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The instructor will train airline crews converting to Airbus on all operational and technical aspects of the applicable aircraft type or types.
- Instruction will be delivered through fixed-base simulators, classroom sessions, Airbus Pilot Training Devices, and full-flight simulators.
- The role includes giving stand-up lectures on normal and emergency procedures so crews can operate safely and correctly in accordance with airworthiness-authority requirements and achieve the required standard of proficiency.
- The instructor must follow Airbus Flight Training Operations policies and standardization requirements, deliver training within defined time limits, evaluate crew progression, and determine when additional sessions are needed.
- The role also includes instructing crews using the listed training devices, delivering ETOPS and performance courses after the required indoctrination, and participating in course development or standardization instruction when needed.

Requirements
- Applicants must have 3,000 hours of total flight time as a pilot, including at least 1,500 hours on multi-pilot aircraft (MPA), and must hold or have held an EASA and/or DGCA ATPL license.
- Negotiation-level English is required.
- The role calls for strong pedagogy, perseverance, flexibility, curiosity, and adaptability, together with availability for worldwide business travel.
- An Airbus type rating is a plus, as is a Synthetic Flight Instructor authorization or previous instructor experience.
- The position also requires awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.
