About This Role
Etihad Airways is seeking a Synthetic Flight Instructor to deliver standardized simulator and ground training within its regulatory-approved aviation training division. The instructor will support flight-crew qualification, transition, recurrent training, type-rating training, and continuing proficiency while maintaining Etihad Airways and GCAA standards for safety, operational effectiveness, documentation, and regulatory compliance. The role also contributes to pilot development and the continuous improvement of training programmes, lesson plans, and courseware.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver simulator and ground instruction using approved lesson plans, courseware, company procedures, and GCAA requirements, ensuring that every session meets operational, regulatory, and Etihad Airways standards. Conduct transition, recurrent, and type-rating training
- monitor and assess pilot performance
- provide coaching and constructive feedback
- identify pilots who need remedial or additional training
- and recommend progression, intervention, or further development as appropriate. Coordinate with Crew Training Management on training matters and pilot-development initiatives, escalate performance concerns, training deficiencies, and operational risks, and accurately maintain all required training records, reports, and documentation. Adapt instructional techniques within approved programmes to improve individual learning outcomes, contribute to the review and continuous improvement of training programmes and courseware, and promote safety, regulatory compliance, risk awareness, and continuous improvement throughout training activities.
Requirements
- Applicants must be qualified as a Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI), a Synthetic Flight Examiner (SFE), or both.
- They must hold, or have previously held, a valid Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) in the relevant aircraft category and must possess at least 1,500 flying hours on multi-pilot aircraft.
- Previous instructional or training experience in a commercial airline environment is preferred.
