About This Role
Airbus India Training Centre is recruiting a Synthetic Flight Instructor for its newly formed 50:50 Airbus-Air India joint venture in Gurugram. The centre is being established as a major pilot training academy in South Asia and is planned to provide A320 and A350 training to approximately 5,000 pilots over 10 years. The instructor will train airline crews converting to Airbus on operational and technical matters through fixed-base simulators, classroom instruction, Airbus pilot training devices and full-flight simulators. The role also includes evaluating crew progress, providing additional sessions when necessary, supporting course development and standardization, and delivering certain specialist courses after appropriate indoctrination.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The instructor will train airline crews on all operational and technical aspects of the assigned Airbus type or types using fixed-base simulators, classroom facilities, Airbus pilot training devices and full-flight simulators.
- The role includes delivering stand-up lectures so crews can safely and correctly perform all normal and emergency procedures required by airworthiness authorities and reach the required standard of proficiency.
- The instructor must follow Airbus flight-training policies and standardization requirements, deliver instruction within defined time limits, evaluate crew progression, and determine when an additional training session is needed.
- The instructor will also deliver other specialist courses, such as ETOPS and performance courses, when required and after being indoctrinated, and may participate in course development or standardization instruction.

Requirements
- Applicants must have 3,000 hours of total flight time as a pilot, including a minimum of 1,500 hours on multi-pilot aircraft (MPA).
- They must hold or have held an EASA and/or DGCA ATPL licence.
- A current or previous type rating on Airbus aircraft is a plus, while a Synthetic Flight Instructor Authorization or prior instructor experience would also be advantageous.
- Negotiation-level English is required.
- The successful candidate should demonstrate pedagogical ability, perseverance, flexibility, curiosity and adaptability, and must be available for business travel worldwide.
