About This Role
Airbus Asia Training Centre is seeking a Simulator Instructor in Singapore for a six-month fixed-term contract to train airline crews converting to the A320. The role delivers operational, technical, systems, performance, normal-procedure and emergency-procedure instruction through Flight Training Devices, Fixed Base Simulators, Full Flight Simulators, lecture rooms, the Airbus Pilot Trainer (APT+) and mock-ups, while evaluating crew progress and arranging additional training when necessary. The instructor also supports theoretical type-rating, flight-operations and aircraft-performance courses, Airbus standardisation, training-programme work, audits, simulator fly-outs and qualifications, final systems and performance examinations, and ongoing instructor competency.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Train airline crews converting to Airbus aircraft in operational, technical and performance matters for the relevant type or types, using Flight Training Devices (FTD), Fixed Base Simulators (FBS), Full Flight Simulators (FFS), lecture rooms, the Airbus Pilot Trainer (APT+) and mock-ups. Ensure crews can safely and correctly perform the normal and emergency procedures required by airworthiness and licensing authorities
- conduct theoretical training for type-rating, flight-operations and aircraft-performance courses
- follow Airbus policy and standardisation requirements
- and complete instruction within defined time limits. Evaluate systems-knowledge progress against the course timetable, determine when extra training is needed to meet proficiency and competence objectives, and ensure pilots achieve the required knowledge standard and pass final systems and performance examinations. Support the Head of Training with assigned duties and training-programme reviews or development, maintain a high level of airmanship in a multicultural environment, assist with flight-training audits and FSTD fly-outs and qualifications, and maintain the required instructor competencies and performance.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold or have held a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) together with a Frozen ATPL, or hold a valid ATPL.
- Previous or current instructor or examiner experience is required, along with at least 3,000 hours as a pilot, 1,500 hours on MPA, and 1,500 hours on Airbus fly-by-wire (FBW) aircraft type(s).
- Candidates must be fluent in English and have a minimum English Language Proficiency Rating of 5.
- Preference is given to applicants who have completed the Airbus Pilot Instructor Course (APIC).
