About This Role
Emirates Flight Training is seeking an experienced aviation professional for a non-flying, ground-based Synthetic Flight Examiner role supporting its Competency Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) and Evidence Based Training (EBT) environment. The role uses Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs) to conduct regulatory and company proficiency evaluations, assess pilots across recurrent, type rating, recency and upgrade training, and provide objective reports and feedback. The examiner also contributes to remedial-training recommendations, programme development, course reviews and improvements to instructional effectiveness in accordance with GCAA regulations and Emirates standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct regulatory and company-mandated proficiency checks, skill tests and assessments using Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs) in line with GCAA regulations and Emirates' training standards.
- Evaluate pilot performance during recurrent, type rating, recency and upgrade training sessions against established benchmarks, maintaining consistency and objectivity.
- Complete and submit accurate, detailed examination reports and assessments through the electronic reporting system within prescribed timelines.
- Identify performance gaps and recommend remedial or additional training to uphold safety and competency standards.
- Provide detailed feedback to training management on pilot performance trends, systemic issues, potential improvements in instructional methodology and training effectiveness.
- Support training programme development, course reviews and other departmental initiatives related to simulator and ground-based pilot evaluation.
What We Offer

Requirements
- The qualification criteria are to hold or have held a CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence), MPL (Multicrew Pilot Licence) or ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot Licence)
- have a minimum of 12 months' experience as an active examiner
- and have at least 1,500 hours of flight time as a pilot on a multi-pilot aeroplane. Advanced communication and leadership skills are also required.
