About This Role
Skyborne Airline Academy is seeking an experienced Flight Instructor for its US Flight Instructors team in Vero Beach, Florida. The role provides flight training to independent and contract students, manages assigned students against the syllabus and schedule, supports timely stage checks and student records, and maintains instructor currency, recency, standardisation, and safety-reporting requirements. Training is delivered under applicable FARs, the SAA course outline or contract-training courses, SOPs, and regulatory requirements. Skyborne describes its mission as building better pilots through airline-focused training and preparing trainees for careers on the flight deck.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide flight training to independent and contract students as assigned, and conduct that training in accordance with FARs and the SAA course outline or the applicable contract-training course. Teach assigned training courses
- manage each assigned student's training within the syllabus and schedule
- keep accurate student logbook records
- and ensure students are scheduled for stage checks in a timely manner. Maintain currency in all procedures and regulations, achieve at least an 80% pass rate on assigned students' non-final and final stage checks, and maintain FAR 61.57 recency in the instructor records. Follow SOPs and regulations, complete annual recurrent instructor standardisation in accordance with FAR 141, complete periodic line checks and evaluation flights as required, and participate in and promote the safety culture by reporting aviation safety issues through the feedback system and following the related processes. Perform other tasks assigned by the Programme Manager, Chief Instructor, and/or Centre Director.

Requirements
- Applicants should be experienced instructors with a minimum of 1,500 hours of total time and CFI, CFII, and MEI ratings.
- They must have the unrestricted right to work in the USA, hold a First, Second, or Third Class Medical Certificate, and have recent experience in accordance with FAR 61.57.
- The position requires effective verbal and written communication in fluent English and the ability to interact with a diverse student body.
- Employment is contingent on passing a drug screening and background check and completing TSA badging when required for the role.
