About This Role
Cathay Pacific seeks an experienced Simulator Instructor to join their Flight Operations Department in Hong Kong. This is a professional training role responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive pilot training programs across various aircraft types, conducting simulator sessions, and evaluating crew performance. Candidates must hold or have previously held an ATPL(A) with a minimum of 1,500 hours multi-pilot aircraft experience and preferably have prior training or check pilot experience in commercial operations. The position requires annual standardization checks, HKCAD Approved Person certification maintenance, and commitment to the highest safety and operational excellence standards. Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out instructional duties as a Flight Simulator Instructor in accordance with Cathay operations manuals
- Conduct simulator sessions to train and evaluate flight crew members
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to ensure pilot proficiency
- Assess crew performance and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain Company standards and HKCAD requirements
- Make development recommendations and implement management-approved amendments in accordance with course development procedure
- Carry out courseware development duties as required
- Ensure records of training are completed on time and submit reports as required
- Ensure satisfactory training aids and up-to-date manuals are provided
- Undergo annual Standardisation Check to ensure training meets HKCAD and Company standards
- Support special training projects as required
Requirements
- Must hold or previously held an internationally recognized Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL(A))
- Minimum 1,500 hours of flying experience as a pilot in multi-pilot aircraft operations
- Previous experience as a training pilot or check pilot in commercial operations (preferred)
- Simulator instructor experience (desirable)
- Successful pre-employment background check including criminal records
- Pass pre-employment drug test (Safety Sensitive Role requirement)
- Knowledge commensurate with providing modern airline initial and recurrent level training
- Ability to mentor and train ab initio flight students
- Able to demonstrate suitable flying skills
- Able to demonstrate trainer skills to a high level of conduct
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Achieve and maintain HKCAD Approved Person certification
- Comply with Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD) requirements
