About This Role
Sault College, a Transport Canada flight training provider based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, is hiring a sessional (part-time faculty) Flight Instructor for its aviation program. The instructor delivers flight training across the full ab-initio-to-advanced spectrum, up to the multi-engine instrument rating level, and supports students through ground instruction, briefings, and simulator sessions while tracking their progress. One position is open in the Aviation faculty category.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide flight instruction from ab initio through to the multi-engine instrument rating level, including the related pre-flight and post-flight briefings, Preparatory Ground Instruction, and flight simulator training.
- The instructor is responsible for monitoring and maintaining student records and for providing production reports as required by the Dean, Chief Flight Instructor (CFI), Assistant Chief Flight Instructor (ACFI), and Operations Manager.
Requirements
- Candidates need an aviation college diploma, an aviation-related university degree, or equivalent industry experience, and must hold at minimum a valid Class III Flight Instructor Rating.
- Applicants must be familiar with all required subjects, Transport Canada flight test guides, and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) as they apply to Private, Commercial, Multi-Engine, and Instrument training, and must be in good standing with Transport Canada.
- Classroom teaching experience is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, mentoring, and presentation skills are expected, along with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success.
- Knowledge of Office 365, Outlook, Word, and Excel is desirable.
