About This Role
Lockheed Martin is seeking a senior ground flight instructor to support the AIR 5428 Pilot Training System at RAAF Base East Sale. The role delivers classroom and procedural training for Australian Defence Force pilot candidates and supports instruction covering aircraft systems, operational procedures, performance, airspace, emergencies, navigation, aerodynamics, radio operations, and civil and military aviation regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom instruction covering aircraft systems, operational procedures, aircraft performance, Air Traffic Control and airspace procedures, emergency protocols, troubleshooting, navigation, aerodynamics, radio operations, civil and military aviation regulations, and ADF policies.
- Maintain student training records and accurate files and reports in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Conduct aircraft visits and procedure training aboard static airframes and in procedural trainers.
- Assess each student's proficiency, provide feedback and targeted counseling where additional support is needed, and maintain, secure, and inventory assigned training equipment, manuals, course materials, and supplies.
- Develop new teaching methods, techniques, and training aids to improve instructional efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements
- Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain the Australian Government Defence security clearance required for the position.
- Candidates should have qualifications in a relevant aviation discipline or equivalent relevant experience, at least a Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment, and substantial experience in a training environment or in delivering training services.
- The posting also seeks previous ADF experience, former QFI or QHI experience or experience as a ground training officer, and experience with large aircraft types or fast jets.
