About This Role
Gulfstream seeks a Senior Captain for Production Test in Dallas. Under the Chief Production Test Pilot, the captain evaluates production aircraft, engines, avionics and related systems against design and performance specifications. The position also serves as pilot in command on domestic and international flights supporting customer services, corporate transportation, demonstrations, maintenance and other Gulfstream operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct flight test evaluations of production aircraft, engines, avionics and related systems to confirm conformity with design and performance specifications. Operate Gulfstream aircraft as pilot in command, domestically and internationally, under the Flight Operations Manual and standard operating procedures. Flights may support Airborne Customer Support, corporate transportation, customer accommodation, demonstrations, entry into service, maintenance and production testing. Act as a Flight Operations point of contact for internal and external customers
- understand domestic and international operations and company policies
- manage assignments independently
- mentor Flight Operations personnel
- and communicate with Gulfstream staff to support customer engagement. Manage ancillary assignments, seek improvements to department operations, coordinate Flight Operations activity at assigned events, and assist Dispatch with flight planning and coordination.
Requirements
- Applicants need seven years of professional pilot experience in the aviation industry and either 2,000 hours of total flight time or 1,000 hours as pilot in command of turbine-powered aircraft. An airline transport pilot licence and an FAA first-class medical certificate are required upon hire
- the captain must be able to maintain the medical certificate. A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Gulfstream also prefers two years of Gulfstream Flight Operations experience, a Gulfstream type rating, previous Gulfstream experience with GVII and/or G280 type ratings, and production or functional test pilot experience. The role requires the ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Travel may reach 25%.
