About This Role
MSG Aviation (the corporate flight department of Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp.) seeks a Senior Captain to serve as Pilot in Command on MSG Aviation controlled fixed-wing aircraft, flying UHNW clients and their guests. The role ensures compliance with all Federal, state, local and foreign regulations and acts in accordance with the MSG Aviation Flight Operations Manual (FOM) under 14 CFR Part 91/135. Based in Farmingdale, NY on large-cabin corporate jets (G550 required type, G650 preferred).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the Pilot in Command (PIC) when assigned as Captain, having the final authority for the operation of the aircraft in the service of UHNWIs and their guests.
- Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety within MSG Aviation.
- Evaluate weather conditions at departure points, destinations, alternate airports, and along planned routes to determine whether to initiate, delay, cancel, or divert flights.
- Review and calculate the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board, and performance charts.
- Ensure preflight inspections are completed thoroughly and in accordance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and coordinate flight and cabin crew performance, mentoring crewmembers within MSG Aviation and the broader Business Aviation community.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, Business Aviation, Safety, Operations Management or equivalent.
- 10+ years of successful experience as PIC in UHNW dynamic global white glove environments.
- Must hold and be able to maintain a valid FAA Class I medical.
- Previous experience operating in 14 CFR Part 91 or 135 environments is required, with a thorough understanding of 14 CFR Part 91 and ICAO Standard.
- Special Requirements: G650 Type Rating is preferred, G550 Type Rating Required.
- 7500 hours total time, 3500 hours turbine time, 3500 hours Pilot in Command, and 1500 hours large cabin corporate aircraft.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, split days off, weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.
- Be able to respond to on demand unscheduled trips and be wheels-up within 3 hours of first call.
