About This Role
AbbVie is seeking a Senior Captain to operate the company's corporate aircraft (GVII/G500-G650) based in North Chicago, IL. Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate company aircraft with final authority and responsibility for flight operations
- Ensure all flight and ground operations comply with FAA regulations and company policies
- Maintain airworthiness of assigned aircraft and safety of passengers and crew
- Conduct pilot-in-command duties as defined by FAA regulations and aircraft flight manual
- Plan and execute all aspects of international flights
- Develop and maintain complete knowledge of aircraft systems
- Make decisions to start, delay, cancel flights, or deviate routes based on operating conditions
- Maintain communication and coordination with crew members
- Maintain standards of safety through proficiency training and continuing education
- Monitor crew performance and delegate duties for safe aircraft operation
- Complete flight logs and paperwork for each flight
- Conduct post-flight activities including aircraft storage, protection, cleaning and restocking
- Mentor and teach less-experienced crew members
- Serve in advisory capacity to aviation management on flight operations
- Maintain flight manuals and navigation charts

Requirements
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) - Airplane Multiengine Land Certificate
- Type rating on company aircraft (GVII/G500-G650)
- Previous command experience on company-operated aircraft
- Previous flight experience in corporate aviation department
- Extensive international operations experience
- Valid FAA medical certificate
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Aviation-related educational or training background desired
- Flight instruction or teaching experience desirable
