About This Role
Tropic Ocean Airways Second in Command (SIC) on the Cessna 208 Caravan based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Reports to the Pilot Manager. Following SOPs, the SIC plans, communicates, and operates the published flight schedule safely, on time, and with superior customer satisfaction; flies day, night, and instrument conditions and assists with passenger boarding/deplaning and freight loading.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed SIC duties/expectations adhering to TOA SOPs.
- Be familiar with and follow the company General Operations Manual, operations bulletins, and other instructions.
- Ensure legally and adequately rested before flight.
- Complete preflight preparation, ensuring aircraft and load are ready 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
- Complete all checklists.
- Perform all standard radio contacts and position reports.
- Assist in escorting, enplaning, and deplaning passengers.
- Report to work a minimum of one hour prior to departure for each scheduled and charter flight.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight.
- Operate aircraft in accordance with all applicable regulations and corporate policies.
- Perform flights during day, night, and instrument conditions.
Requirements
- Pilot qualifications and aircraft systems knowledge required.
- FAA Commercial ASEL, Instrument Rating, High-performance endorsement.
- FAA Commercial ASES.
- 250 hours total flight time.
- Second Class Medical Certificate.
- Valid US Passport or Green Card.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Overnight availability may be required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, sit or stand for extended periods of time, and climb stairs throughout the day.
