About This Role
Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures is recruiting pilots for a two-year traineeship operating Cessna 208 Caravans from Broome, Western Australia. Training begins in February 2027 in the Whitsundays before the successful candidates relocate or travel to Broome. The company will provide a floatplane endorsement before the pilot completes 100 hours of ICUS.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate Cessna 208 Caravan seaplanes in single-pilot operations around the Kimberley.
- The pilot in command is responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft and everyone onboard, complying with company procedures, manuals, and reasonable instructions.
- The role requires sound independent decision-making, situation assessment, strong safety awareness, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, autonomous working ability, and effective contribution within a team environment while delivering safe and memorable guest experiences.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold a CASA Part 61 Commercial Pilots License, CASA Class 1 Medical, and a current aeroplane flight review. The minimum experience is 1,000 hours total flight time, with zero floatplane time required
- 50 hours on the C208 is highly desirable. Candidates must be able to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card, complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, and have the right to work in Australia. Required ratings and endorsements include a single-engine aeroplane class rating, Cessna 208 rating, retractable undercarriage design feature endorsement, gas turbine design feature endorsement, and manual propeller pitch control design feature endorsement.
